About caring well

“Be shepherds of God’s flock that is under your care, watching over them—not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to be; not pursuing dishonest gain, but eager to serve;  not lording it over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock.” – 1 Peter 5:2-3

Here at Immanuel Baptist Church, we want to do our best to protect and care for the preschool, kids, and students in our church. In November, Immanuel Baptist Church hired Melissa Weddle as our “Caring Well Coordinator”, and in December, we accepted The Southern Baptist Convention’s Caring Well challenge, which provides a clear pathway to enhance policies, prevent abuse, and provide responsive and compassionate care for survivors.

“The Caring Well Committee” is composed of IBCLR ministry area leaders and church members. They are trained and prepared to respond to abuse (should it arise), to care for victims, and to provide a place where incidents of abuse can be voiced and disclosed properly.
It is our goal to create a culture that continually looks over and cares for our flock and serves those that have been entrusted to us.
