The Immanuel family knows how to play together! We have a great lineup of activities to give you both a physical and a spiritual workout. Recreation Ministry Classes

Open to IBC members and prospective members, “Faith and Fitness” is a one-time informational class that provides an overview of the recreation center ministry and facilities.

Attendees will take a tour of the Faith and Fitness Room and receive a card which grants access into the Faith and Fitness Room located on the Mezzanine level.

Birthday Parties

Need a great place to host your next birthday bash? Birthday kids can have a great time here at the Family Recreation Center.  It is Easy, Convenient, and best of all, it is FREE.  Birthday kids can have access to our playroom, game room, basketball and recquetball courts.  To make it even more convienient, you can set up and decorate in our youth area -- Top's Cafe.  Call to make your reservations today. (Available to IBC members and prospects only.)


Arts and Crafts


Immanuel Prayer Shawl Ministry

As a special outreach to our members struggling with serious illness, this group knits prayer shawls to give as a tangible reminder of the warmth, love and concern our church family has for the recipient. This group is open to all knitters, regardless their level of skill and we can even teach you how to knit. Members can knit at home and at fellowship meetings on Tuesdays at 12:30 p.m. in Room M100 (Mezzanine Level), and are asked to bring their own needles (size 13 or 15).

Scrapbook Club

The following are the next meeting nights:

The Scrapbook Club meets the second Friday night of each month from 6:00 p.m. to 12:00 midnight in Horne Hall (South Entrance). Everyone is responsible for their own food and supplies. Bring your craft project and get started.

Basketball


Pickup Basketball
Looking for a great opportunity to invite men from your office to enjoy fellowship and exercise? Head over to the recreation center at noon Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays for a game of pickup basketball on the main court.

Men's 4 on 4 
Sign up coming soon for Men's 4 on 4.  Play will be on Thursday nights in October beginning with pick-up games on the 7th and continue until November 18th.

Children's Basketball Leagues

Registration is open now!  Our children's basketball leagues are for boys and girls in K through 5th grades.  These leagues are designed for kids to learn the game, build Christian values, develop skills, and to mold a positive self-image.

Kindergarten Participants MUST be 5 years old by September 1, 2010

The cost is $65.00 per child.  The deadline for registration is October 6th, after the deadline the cost will be $70.00.

Evaluations will start the week of October 18th.  Team practices will begin the week of November 15th, with no practice the week of November 22nd and will resume on the week of November 29th.  The first games will be December 4th, 11th, & 18th and January 8th, 15th, & 22nd.

Team Picture day will  December 11th - must arrive 30 minutes before your game time for team pictures.  Trophy Day will be January 22nd.

EVALUATION SCHEDULE - **Must be present for BOTH evaluations - 1st is Individual - 2nd is Team Evaluation

A fitness program that will motivate the participant by providing goals and meeting their needs both spiritually and physically through following the footsteps of the Apostle Paul during his first missionary journey

 

 

 

 

Boot Camp and Circuit Training with Barbara Bowman

Bored with traditional work outs? Then come to boot camp. it's only as hard as you make it. In this a co-ed program, participants will perform a variet of body weight calistenics and calorie/fat burning cardiovascular workouts that will help tone and strengthen muscles.  Circuit Training will provide a variety of activities for Ladies.

Each Session is for 4 weeks.  Cost is $25.00 for the weeks. Silver Star Fitness Classes Begin September 8th

Silver Star fitness is for senior adults over 65 years old but anyone with a desire to improve their overall health and fitness are welcomed.

This is a low to no impact cardio program to improve strength, flexibility, balance and endurance.  This co-ed group format provides encouragement and support.  Silver Star's offers something for everyone, regardless of fitness level, and can help improve overall strength and flexibility - helping you stay healthy and independent.  Mondays and Wednesdays 9 to 9:45 am.  Cost is $25.00 per 4 week session.

ZUMBA Fitness with Jennifer Clinehens

A high energy cardio class that will be modified, and open to ALL ages.  Zumba will incorporate both interval and resistance training during workouts.  Each class will have a devotional thought and will last an hour.  Cost is $25.00 per 4 week session.  For Additional Questions, please contact Jennifer Clinehens at 501-851-7208.

Gym For Him
Join this fun gymnastics program for children.

We flip out over gymnastics at Immanuel! Coach Lorie Kimes has put together an outstanding program for boys and girls ages 3-12 that blends skills training with an awareness of how to glorify God through discipline and exercise.

Race for the Cure

Praying for the Cure

Immanuel Baptist Church will be forming a 2010 Susan G. Komen Arkansas Race for the Cure Team. We usually have over 45 participate in our team effort for the past 4 years.


Once again we will be handing out our Pink "Praying for the Cure" bracelets. Our shirts will be designed by Immanuel member, Laura Bennett.
