The Immanuel Orchestra

The trumpeters and singers joined in unison, as with one voice, to give praise and thanks to the Lord. Accompanied by trumpets, cymbals and other instruments, they raised their voices in praise to the Lord and sang: "He is good; his love endures forever." Then the temple of the Lord was filled with a cloud.
- 2Chronicles 5:13
God has blessed Immanuel Baptist Church with one of the finest church orchestras in existence. The Immanuel Orchestra is made up of people from all walks of life who share a common desire to serve God through instrumental music.
We welcome new members. For more information please call the Music Office at (501) 374-SING.

Handbells

The Chancel Bells are a vital part of the Music Ministry of Immanuel Baptist Church. Under the direction of Mr. Lyndon Finney, this thirteen-member choir plays regularly in the worship services at Immanuel from September through May each year.
Having a wonderful long history together, the Chancel Bells often have opportunities to share their beautiful music at community events around Little Rock. The Chancel Bells have been a featured guest at Christmas concerts with David Itkin and the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra.
The Chancel Bells utilizes a five-octave set of White Chapel handbells, from the White Chapel Bell Foundry in London, England. These bells feature a uniquely colorful timbre not found in any handbells manufactured in the United States. The choir also has a set of Schulmerich Handchimes which adds further color to their varied tonal palette.
The Chancel Bells is an auditioned group. They are currently in need of 1 to 2 players. For more information, please contact the Music Office at 374-SING.

Our Pipe Organ
“Praise ye the Lord. Praise God in his sanctuary: praise him in the firmament of his power. 4Praise him with the timbrel and dance: praise him with stringed instruments and organs."
Psalm 150:1,4

The organ is at the very heart of the music ministry here at Immanuel. We praise God for allowing us to have this magnificent world-class instrument at our church.
The organ can lead congregational singing the way no other instrument can. The organ is also special and unique in the way it reflects
the nature of God: it is both powerful and strong, and can be joyful and exuberant, yet when played gently, its music brings peace and comfort.
The four-manual pipe organ at Immanuel was built by the Fratelli Ruffatti Organ Company of Padova, Italy. The organ was dedicated to the glory of God on November 6, 2005, by the congregation, in a full day of celebration, which ended with a dedicatory recital by Dr. Joyce Jones, the Bowden Professor of Organ and Organist-in-Residence at Baylor University in Waco, Texas.
Among the striking features of the organ’s console is the use of Indian rosewood for its interior. Because this is now a protected wood, our console is the last Ruffatti console to ever be built from Indian rosewood. Nigerian ebony was used for the sharps of the manuals and pedalboard, European oak for the pedalboard’s naturals, and Macassar ebony for the drawknobs. The keyboard naturals are covered with natural bone.
The organ can be heard each Sunday morning in our 9:00 worship service, as well as at our evening service. The organ is also featured throughout the year at special concerts and events.
